I have been meaning to post these last NY street style pictures for a while now but got so caught up with the Paris ones I forgot! Can’t get enough of denim shirts and long nude skirts. Although these pieces were super trendy this past season, they are subtle and basic enough to be reinvented into many different styles and clothing combinations. Denim shirts look amazing in both men and women and can add a touch to any plain or boring look. In previous posts I have talked about my love for denim vests and jackets. Even when you think they are gone and over with, they always come back- so it’s worth having one in your closet.

Some hate these Isabel Marant sneakers, others love them. I think they are stylish paired with skinny jeans and a basic t-shirt. I also think the hidden platforms are an awesome idea that must make you feel tall and lean even when wearing casual sneakers.

Denim on denim. Major no no? I don’t think so. I use to hate this combination but now I’m really acquiring a taste for it.

This LF skirt has got to be the number one item of clothing I most spotted this summer. In this picture above, my friend Luisa (from the super cute blog Sonhos de Crepom) was the one who in my opinion wore it best. The skirt looks perfect for an afternoon look when paired with a button down denim shirt and a cropped white t-shirt.

The heavy black boots break up the romantic feel of the lace cropped top together with the soft flowy skirt. I like it when outfits aren’t so literal and have some sort of contradiction. Makes it more interesting.

Super casual and comfortable for a day walking around the city.

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned how colorful Barcelona is. So colorful that coming back to gray chilly Paris was a bit hard. I loved how vivid and vibrant the city is.

Back in Paris after five amazing days in sunny Barcelona. It was so nice to lay on the beach, eat loads of seafood and walk around the colorful city. Have to be honest though- in terms of fashion and street style, I wasn’t so lucky with the tourists OR locals. Also, given my ultra fast packing constraints (it was a surprise trip for my boyfriend’s birthday and I had to secretly pack both our suitcases in 10 minutes while he showered), I didn’t have time to put together interesting and elaborate outfits. But on the other hand, I took quite a few pictures of beautiful details around the city. Here are a few… I will post more tomorrow! I also have some great restaurant tips for those of you who plan on going to Barcelona sometime in the near future.

Dug up this pleated plaid skirt from my closet the other day. I bought it 3 years ago in Paris but never really wore it more than once. I always thought it was hard to style into a look that didn’t scream school girl but after seeing so much plaid I felt inspired to give it a try.

Since I’m on a trip at the moment I am not writing super long posts. Sorryyy but in a couple of days I’m back in Paris and will go back to my usual posts.

Hello from Barcelona!! Didn’t get to post last night since I had to wake up at 3AM to catch a flight, so I forced myself to go to bed straight after work. Anyways, here is a look I have been wanting to post for a while now. I love the contrast of the green bushes with the dark clothing. I have always been a fan of mixing navy and black and have been seeing this color combination a lot lately. I got this vest at COS and so far have only worn it once but I can’t wait to pair it up with other outfit combinations. It is also a great piece for fall since the material of the vest is warm and heavy.

Since this week I didn’t have a weekend at all, I might as well reminisce about the past one. Went to Silencio, a new bar/club in Paris designed by David Lynch. We arrived at 12:30AM since only members are allowed before 12AM and had no problems getting in. I really enjoyed the bar but am anxious to go back when it’s not such a hype to actually observe the decor and all the little details. The barmen are generous when preparing your drink so that for sure is a plus in comparison to most places in Paris that charge you 15 euros for a drop of alcohol. The decoration and architecture of the place is exquisite and innovative. It almost feels as if you are in a maze due to the many corridors and different spaces.

After walking down about three flights of stairs, this is the entrance to the actual club. The irregular ceiling blocks together with the mirrors give such a cool effect.

I really loved the bathroom- especially these round mirrors that hang from the center of the ceiling.

Was only able to get this one picture of me before the security guard came storming over. Not the best, buuut at least you can see a bit of the eccentric forest inspired tables and stoles.

If you are looking for a cool place to have a drink and socialize, I recommend Silencio. Although they have a dance floor, I wouldn’t necessarily call the place a club but instead more of a lounge. Check it out if you’re in Paris!

I love this brown and gray leather jacket and how it appears to be a casual sporty jacket but up close you can notice it’s soft crackled leather which give it an extra touch. I bought it about a year ago at Pop Up Store in Brazil when I finished my internship with them. I figured that if I still loved this jacket after seeing it day after day throughout 1 month, it was for sure worth buying. I think it looks perfect with jeans and a loose tank top or t-shirt and you can wear it casually with a pair of converse, or with heels for a dressier look.

In the picture above you can see the leather and sweater material up close. It’s so nice and soft, and I love the contrast between materials.

If you are in São Paulo and feel like shopping, I recommend checking out Pop Up Store. It’s a super cute fast fashion shop that caters to many different styles and trends at an affordable price in comparison to other stores in Sao Paulo. Apart from clothes they also sell shoes, bags, accessories and underwear.

It’s crazy how if you pay close attention to all your surrounding you can spot so many interesting little details just about anywhere you go. I took these shots just the other day around Paris and noticed so many things I never did before. Holding a camera in your hands is like Adderall for my attention to detail.

Here are some looks I snapped my first week back at Parsons. The weather was a bit chillier then in comparison to this week (actually have been wearing summer jumpsuits and dresses the past couple of days), so we get some light layering going on.

Pavlina is one of those girls that just always, effortlessly looks cool and stylish in anything. She always looks very unique due to the way she puts her outfits together- lots of layering, a random mix of accessories, and mostly earth tone color combination’s. Apart from her awesome looks, her hair makes just about anything look 10x more stylish.

I absolutely love this jumpsuit! Lisa styled it perfectly by pairing it with solid colored items that match the jumpsuit’s pattern. The structured minimal jacket with leather sleeves gave the look a classic and dressed up touch, while the black flat sandals and fringe brown purse kept it casual enough for daytime.

As mentioned in a previous post, fringe bags are everywhere, mostly in black and brown.

David (you will be seeing him a lot around here) looked so fresh in this white and denim look. The denim button down shirt added color and contrast to the black and white striped t-shirt. Similar to Lisa’s look, David managed to create a harmonious color combination of brown and black that works very well.

Always very contemporary and minimal, her style is SO cool. Her outfits are generally a variation of either black, white or beige over sized minimal light tops with skinny pants and interesting male inspired loafers or plain black boots.

You can’t really see the details of the clothing with these pictures, but the textures and patterns of the pants really added a touch to the rest of the outfit.

Kris was sporting these awesome black sweatpants that I myself have a similar gray pair, which I love dearly. His cheetah “Keds” really transform this sporty basic black outfit into a fun look. If I were a guy I would for sure invest in some awesome fun shoes.

Have to go sleep ASAP because tomorrow will be another busy day at Wang!

Went for a nice long coffee with my friend Nathalie the day before starting my FW internship. One of my absolute favorite things to do in Paris is to just sit in a cafe for hours, catching up with a good friend and people watching, especially when the weather is still pleasant.

If I had to select one item in my closet to receive the “best buy” award it would be this leather jacket. I wear it all the time and never get tired of it. During the day, at night, dressed down, dressed up, it goes with everything and makes me feel so good. I bought it in Istanbul and have to say I am so happy with the quality of the leather.

Red pants were everywhere this past year and now the trend has morphed into pastel colored pants, but I personally don’t let that stop me from wearing mine. I got these red pants in NY this summer and regardless of what people have to say about what’s “in” or “out”, I simply love them and plan on wearing them a lot. I like being aware of what’s new at the moment but I most definitely don’t let trends dictate what I can or can’t wear.

Meet Nathalie! Her basic and clean style runs in the same lines of what I tend to wear. We both love our solid colors =)

Her Thierry Lasry sunglasses really give her look some attitude. She purchased them from the men’s section, which is something I do myself! I love men’s shades because they suit my face shape better and I’m into that oversized look that I struggle to find in the women’s section.

Wang inspired bag from Sandro! The metal studs and the leather texture are similar to the Rocco bag, but the shape and size are quite different.

These leopard loafer espadrilles are the cutest thing! They look great paired with skinny jeans and can also look cool with pastel colored pants.

Both of us own this OPI military green nail polish yet we couldn’t decide how we feel about it. I think it’s that kind of color that looks good with somber colors…. but awful with colorful clothes.. How do you all feel about this green polish? Cool or ew?

So today I started my fashion week internship at the Alexander Wang showroom!! So far we have been unpacking and steaming the AMAZING collection which has not felt like work at all. I love the stuff so much it feels like I’m unwrapping gifts. I had to hold my excitement every time I unpacked something new (freak). The shoes and the bags are my killer weakness… and it feels like this season there are so many more of them that it becomes hard to pick a favorite. Although I will eat sleep and breath Wang for 9 days straight, I don’t see myself getting sick of the collection…it might just feed my Wang obsession a little more. Anywaaays, since I can’t post any insider pictures of the showroom (boooo), I will talk a bit about the runway show.

Inspired by fast sports such as motocross, cycling and race car driving, this spring summer ready-to-wear collection really brought on a whole new level of elegant sportswear. As always Wang managed to create fierce and urban-cool looks that radiate confidence and edge.

Here are a few looks in case you haven’t seen the show yet:

The neon orange polo shirt combined with the navy net bomber jacket looks amazing together and is a great way of changing up the color blocking fad.

I love the texture that this plastic jacket forms with the net skirt. I am also really into the whole monotone blue look with touches of black.

I think the look above is incredibly wearable and casual, yet the color is strong and so rich it takes the look to a whole new level. It can be worn both during the day or to go out at night.

A more dressed up option than the previous look. The parachute pockets give it that cool loose and laid-back shape that I love about Wang’s clothes.

I’m not crazy into patterns but the shape of this outfit is simply amazing. The contrast between the tight pants with the bomber puffy jacket creates an awesome effect that make her look tough and buff, yet the heels give her elegance and femininity. I also like that you can see a hint of her stomach.

Tribal inspired patterns in techno-fabrics such as laser-cut netting and techno-cotton.

I love it that this dress is a combination of modern and structured forms and fabrics with a contrast of tribal inspired patterns. It’s a fresh take on the whole hippie tribal inspired trend.

I am obsessed with this bag. It can turn into a backpack as well. The burgundy color is also perfect… It might be one of my favorite items from this collection.

I’m really into pointy shoes lately… These are just chic.

I kind of feel like having a motorcycle just so I can wear this helmet.

I love the texture and color effect that different fabrics and materials have on a look.

Ahhh he seems so nice and charismatic!! At least from what I have been told he is extremely down to earth and cool.

Dinner at the Pershing Hall

About a week ago I went to a friend’s birthday dinner at a super trendy restaurant inside of the Pershing Hall Hotel. Designed by Andrée Putman, this venue is absolutely stunning with a 30 meter vertical garden and a contemporary baroque inspired decor. I had been there before a couple of times and it is guaranteed a fun night with great cocktails, Asian fusion + French food and lounge music. The ambiance is perfect for a weekend dinner right before going out or even for a couple of drinks at the bar/lounge area. It is quite pricey but worth the visit, even if it’s only for a drink.

The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch everyday and on Sunday’s they have a special lunch buffet from 11:30am to 4:30pm. When the weather is nice, the glass roof covering the terrace opens up and all the Parisians are happy because they can smoke indoors.

BUTTER CROISSANT

Hey heyyy! Just got back from a brunch at a friends place and wanted to share with you all some pictures of this beautiful day. I took them in Le Marais, one of my favorite quarters in Paris where you can find many cool boutiques, art galleries and the best Falafel. I enjoy going there on Sunday’s since it’s one of the only neighborhoods that open for commerce.

David, as always, was wearing an outfit I wanted to post. I already have quite a few pictures of him I will put up soon. His style tends to be composed of basic solid colored pieces, with one element that stands out such as a pair of colorful shoes or funky glasses.

These round glasses are amazing and he pulls them off so well. If only I had those cheekbones…

The aubergine suede loafers are the key piece that elevate the outfit from proper and safe, to unique and eye-catching.

At the brunch— Yummy crepes, buttery croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Apart from the beautiful contrast between the colorful chairs and the guys in black, I wanted to capture the stylish man in the hat.

So simple, yet so cool.
